Introspection₁ ("external attention"). Introspection₁ is subsymbolic metarepresentation operating on a preexisting, coherent world-model. This typoe of introspection is a phenomenal process of attentionally representing certain aspects of an internal system state, the intentional content which is constituted by a part of the world depicted as external. The accompanying phenomenology is what we ordinarilty describe as attention or the subective experience of attenting to some object in our environment. Introspection₁ corresponds to the folk-psychological notion of attention.
