originally developed in the CAEE-09 analysis, to see why it matters, see Motivation.

This define what makes the "creativity engine" running. Why this so costly process is still perpetually active.

Note that this presuppose a form of competition because access to resources is costly, even if there is a large amount of resource it is not negligible. Consequently the caring of a member of a group for each other does not remove that constraint even if it is often easier to witness as available resources required for the group are under the minimum threshold for the survival of all members, thus requiring an allocation for only a part of the group.

Creativity to remain or become independent from the existing (legal) system

This provide great survival value as it gives more freedom to exploit potential resources (but with other risks?).

Law not being proactive, events resulting from innovation have to precede the law thus being "outside of its cadre" until it gets incorporated.

innovation/creativity/illegality MAJOR drive and thus it should be part of the epistemological perspective

I remember having a discussion with someone involved in P2P who told me that science study were nice but it was too slow compared to "field work" (I guess he was more practical and saying that the feedback loop is faster I didn't keep the log but basically that, you are more on the edge by producing protocol and seeing in "real life" how they behave and if they are efficient and resistant rather that theorizing too much about them but that was maybe because some earlier work has be done upstream, in formal research and that he was using it without being aware of it.)

just doing it and letting the computer scientist analyze after why it worked and obviously in P2P (data sharing but also running code) being illegal is a drive for innovation

you have be on the technical edge to bypass laws and the system in place so independently of the moral or ethical aspect, it's definitely an important part of epistemology

especially with the survival perspective

it clearly show the arm race and how having the edge matters

Examples of epistemic arm race that use directly improvements in modeling

to order chronologically and provide an "History of arms race, the evolution of natural creativity engines"

Pattern

so...is there actually any epistemic process that isn't an arm-race?

To do

  1. organize by ordering by
    1. generality
    2. importance
    3. ...
  2. consider how even time travel does not change this principle
    1. an arms-race would still take place to be the first able to "correct" the situation
