- share pragmatic options
- learn from other parents and kids
- test Biggu's Gate more
Dedicated Matrix room #osvkids on matrix.org
goal
not to show that VR works, or is "cool", but rather that
- everyone including non professional developers, or developer wannabees DO have affordances in virtual world. That kids & adults alike are able to shape back virtual reality content, social or not, and thus have agency even with and thanks to emergy technologies like VR.
- roughly based on TADAWorkshopJanuary2026
- consider scaling up if we do get ~15 headsets
- potentially relying on https://home.benetou.fr as showcase of self-hosting, no intermediary
- document the Quest2 setup via adb (for local sideload update) and PrivateQuest
- could print https://www.fixmyoculus.com/collections/quest-2-parts to make it a game
- how to put it back together
- few gotcha like 4x cameras
- total price for pieces (~$400)
