Langrolay-sur-Rance update

Motivation

We need to rethink a lot of things locally, especially with the probably higher price of energy because of new international players like India/China (and Brazil/Russia) and the communities that will know how to organize themselves to innovate faster regarding key elements (basic needs : energy, food, information) will have the safest positions.

Strategy

  1. set up a wiki with all the information I have
    1. based on my own existing page : Projetautonomieenergetique
    2. based on Gilbert's projects (bike, co-voiturage)
  2. gather information regarding people who might be interested
    1. door to door
      1. next street
        1. make interviews
    2. social networking
    3. social hubs
      1. Ti'Boutique
      2. townhall
  3. Leverage the local network
    1. print a card and went from place to place to discuss about it
    2. publish an annouce in social hubs
  4. feedback loop within the wiki regarding
    1. organized events
    2. work done
      1. our own use of chanvre, water gathering, biking, etc
      2. provide live updates (return on experience)
    3. work to achieve
      1. organize information
        1. local producers
        2. new public (national, regional, local) fundings solution
        3. online resources for Langrolay
        4. make the information available for people without Internet
        5. make a template for other communities who would like to follow this example
      2. gather public funds
      3. organize events
    4. knowledge required
    5. taskforce required
      1. local specialized workers

Solutions

  • knowledge management for redistribution of aquired domain-specific knowledge
  • peer-to-peer techniques for higher fault tolerance

Inspiration

Yesterday (31st of October) I went to ride my bike a bit and saw houses with solar pannel Im in a 1000 inhabitants small town and was wondering about starting a repository of experience, people information and what they did so far like the price of a pannel, how they use it, how the installed it, if they are ready to help others, how much energy they get from it depending of the season, etc basically a relocalized community hub.
